Frequently Asked QuestionIt's for your own good...really
How Do I get In contact with someone?
We don't like spam, so we don't display email address or anything like that. Look for the Person you want to contact on the member page. Or you can use the search bar at the top of the page to find someone. Just start typing their name, Send them a PM. If you are not a member of the team, you don't have an inbox on the site, so be sure you leave your contact information so they can get back to you. You do need to register on the site before you can send a PM, We do this to prevent spam. And no We won't spam you, we're too lazy for that.
Why Isn't my Team Listed On your site
Our goal is to have the most complete and cram-packed database of everything that is/was the IFL. So if we are missing something-We want to know!
So if you don't see your team here - Could be a couple of reasons:
- We forgot about you
- Your team was never in the IFL to begin with
- We haven't quite gotten around to that yet
If you think your team should be listed on our kick ass website, shoot me a message ( user: esatterwhite )
I played for the Hitmen, can I get on the Site??
Yes! As long as we still like you. Get intouch with one of the admins and we'll set you up
I want to play! Who do I talk to?
Fill this out. We'll get in touch with you.
Hey, Why can't I [ Insert problem here ]
Depending on a number of factors we determine who can do what around here. Chances are, you don't have the permissions to do something because we don't think you should be able to do what ever it is you are trying to do.
At the very least, you have to register. After you have done that, you will be able to post comments and interact with the team. We are working on allowing select fans to have profiles like the players...We're working on it...
What are the stars for?
Every week we review the film from the last game and evaluate our performance as a a unit. Each squat ( Offense, Defense, and Special Teams ) is ranked on a scale of 1 to 5, 1/2 points are not allowed, and the scale is adjusted to fit each game. For example, the highest rating may not always denote 'Perfection', but was awarded for the performance and impact for a particular game. The grading scale is as follows:
A 5 star rating is the highest rating a squad can achieve. It is awarded when a squad has performed better than expected, with out mistakes and was instrumental in the outcome of the game..
A 4 star rating is an above average performance. The squad has presented a more polished product and executing plays with an added exclamation point. Certain players stood out and provided the team with an extra lift that was needed to sway the game in our favor.
A 3 star rating is Average. They showed up, did what they were supposed to do - Nothing less and nothing more. This squad played their part, but did not have a significant impact one way or the other on the outcome of the game. mental mistakes were minimal. Plenty of room for improvement.
A 2 star rating is awarded to a sub-par performance by a particular squad. They came to play, but were always playing catch-up. The opposing team was able to exploit the weaknesses in this squad more easily than others.
A 1 star rating is a poor performance. Mentally and physically flat. Mental mistakes are very apparent. This is awarded when a squad appears to be just going through the motions.
A 0 star rating is the lowest rating a squad can receive. This score is assigned when a squad has grossly under performed, plagued by mental mistakes, which had a significant and negative ( - ) impact on the outcome of the game.
The scores are averaged out and rounded down to the next whole number. For you math wizards out there, this means that the only way The Muskego Hitmen will receive a 5 star game as a team is for all 3 squads ( Offense, Defense and Special Teams ) to receive 5 stars as a unit.
* In context, where the name of a member of the hitmen has a star next to their name, it denotes that that individual has been nominated as an IFL All-Star atleast one time.
Hey, Whats up with the all-time team standings? It's all over the place!
The team standings, and the all-time standings more so than the year by year, work by assessing a teams Win:Loss ratio and assigns points based on that. Teams are ranked by the number of points. Teams can not have negative( - ) points, 0 is the lowest score. When more than 1 team has 0 points they are ranked by the number of wins they have.
It's not a perfect system, but it works. Trying to rank all of the teams by all of the games in the system based on who beat who how many times would take far too long to figure out and you would be waiting for it too load so long you would probably give up. So this is the way it shall work for now.
