What Makes Semi-Pro Football Great In A Fan's Eyes

Semi-pro football has to be one of the most fan friendly sports a fan can follow. The cost of admissions is low, the players are as competitive or maybe even more so than NFL players and are just like the fans they entertain, the games take place close to home, and the games are played on a Saturday night when most people either have little or nothing to do and are looking for some inexpensive entertainment. And now with games also being televised on Time Warner Sports fans can watch their teams' road games without having to use a lot of gas ( I actually can't because I have Dish Network). So sometimes I wonder why I don't see a lot of fans (although some nights there were a good number of them) in the stands on both sides of the field. But regardless I know that I am living the dream of a football fan. A team in my hometown, a team that has a long history of winning, a team full of men who work full time jobs like many of their fans (however I have yet to but I plan to be once I have my degree), and I am their biggest fan. Proud to bleed their team colors, willing to sit in pouring rain if needed to watch them play the greatest sport on the planet, wearing team gear with pride, and cheering loud and often. Can't call yourself a fan of any league if you don't follow that criteria. What also makes semi-pro football great is knowing that you are watching grown men (and maybe women too) live a dream. It makes one feel good watching someone else getting to do what they love to do and do it well even if they don't make a penny off of it. And that my friends is just a small taste of what being a fan is all about.
