Hitmen Win To Open The 2012 Season
The Muskego Hitmen opened their 2012 IFL Season with a preseason battle against their NFC rivals, the Milwaukee Venom. Despite being short-handed, the Hitmen prevailed 27-0 on strong performances on both sides of the ball.
The Hitmen Offense, lead by JoJo Moore, was efficient scoring touchdowns on their first 4 possessions. The first to score a touchdown was Moore on a 3 yard run. He would later add a 65 yard touchdown run. Fullback Russ Hochstaetter rumbled from 1 yard out for a touchdown, and WR Mike Beckom capped off the scoring with an 11 yard touchdown catch from Moore.
The Hitmen Defense was equally impressive, forcing 4 turnovers in route to the shutout. An interception by defensive back Anthony Wiggins, 2 interceptions by defensive back Justin Rogers, as well as a fumble recovery helped to keep the Venom out of the endzone and preserve the shutout.
The Hitmen now have 2 weeks to prepare for their first regular season game against the Fon du lac Crusaders on June 9th. Game time is 6 pm at Muskego HIgh School's Inpro Stadium. Be sure to come out and support your Hitmen as they begin their quest for another Ironbowl Championship in 2012.
